Why do we need feed horse a hard feed

There can be a number of reasons horses may require a hard feed (as opposed to grass and hay). 

  • To provide extra calorific content to manage weight and energy usage
  • Poor feed conversion
  • A base to mix supplements into
  • Insufficient pasture availability

It is important to balance the hard feed you supply your horse with their individual nutritional requirements and specific medical conditions.
