Each weight mark on the syringe plunger will deliver sufficient paste to treat 100kg live weight.

BIMECTIN PASTE is given orally at the recommended dose level of 200μg ivermectin/ kg live weight. The contents of this syringe will treat one horse at 600kg live weight. Each weight marking on the syringe plunger will deliver 1.07g of paste which is sufficient to treat 100kg live weight. Release the knurled ring by making a ¼ turn and slide the ring up the plunger shaft so that the side of the ring nearest the barrel is at the desired weight marking. Turn the knurled ring ¼ turn to lock in place. Make sure the horse’s mouth contains no feed. Remove the plastic cap from the tip of the syringe barrel and insert the syringe at the interdental space (the gap between the front and back teeth). Depress the plunger and deposit the paste over the back of the tongue. Immediately raise the horse’s head for a few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose has been swallowed

General Directions

Resolution of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with treatment with BIMECTIN PASTE. Reinfection, and measures for its prevention should also be considered. Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve. BIMECTIN PASTE has been formulated for use in horses only. This product should not be used in other animal species.

SUGGESTED PARASITE CONTROL PROGRAM

All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention paid to mares, foals and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate. BIMECTIN PASTE is highly effective against gastrointestinal, cutaneous and pulmonary nematodes and bots of horses of all ages. Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S. vulgaris. With its broad spectrum, BIMECTIN PASTE is well suited to be the major product in a parasite control program. Consult your veterinarian

PRODUCT ADVANTAGES

  • Broad Spectrum: BIMECTIN PASTE kills all the important internal parasites of horses, including the arterial stages of S. vulgaris and bots, with a single, low volume, easy to administer dose. Because reinfection is common, treatment must be repeated routinely for effective control.
  • Safety to Horses: BIMECTIN PASTE has shown a wide safety margin at the recommended dose level. It may be used in horses of all ages. Mares may be treated at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.
